She was just someone I knew at work. We didn’t work together. She worked in a department I had to interact with from time to time. But, when she met you, you became a friend to her. And, you stayed that way.
Someone said that if friends were flowers, she would have a botanical garden. She passed away yesterday after a lengthy illness.
This afternoon I took her name out of my email address file. It took just two clicks of the mouse.
It occurred to me that all too often that’s how life is, you know, just a click or two and you’re gone. Maybe it would do someone, and you, some good if you checked your address book and gave someone a call before the next click is one of you.
Bye LaVern. The flowers are as far as the eye can see.
