A Must Have

The ad reads, “Have you ever been drinking a can of beer and thought,” “I wish my beer could make shotgun sound effects.?”  The obvious answer is, “Who hasn’t?”

An advertisement in one of the daily blogs I receive is trying to sell a shotgun shell look alike can holder with a built in sound effect system.  Click the button once and it makes the sound of a shotgun cocking.   Press the button again and it fires.

What red bloodied American can live without one?  It keeps your brew cold and drives away those that may try to sneak upon your six pack.  They do mention that it works with any soft drink can too, but what fun would that be?

Even if you don’t drink beer, get a six pack and order one of the holders now before they are all gone.

You don’t want to be the only one in your neighborhood without one.

Disrespect

Black women are the most disrespected members of our society, according to a recent talking heads report.  That just isn’t so.  White men are the most disrespected.  Think about it.  And, not just living white men. 

To paraphrase Bill Shakespear:

“The evil that white men do lives after them;. The good is oft interred with their bones.”

Still Struggling

As pointed out in yesterdays post, my minor eye surgery has caused more problems than expected.  I am still struggling between seeing great and seeing blurry.  It’s okay, because there are some things that I don’t want to see anyway.  Like daytime television.

I do believe that I have solved the mystery as to why I am having more problems that I was told.  The “minor” discomforts were written for a person 27 years old.

I am 72.

I'm Back - Almost

Okay, I’m back, or maybe almost.  The problem has been that I had what was supposed to be a very minor and easy eye surgery on both eyes.  The operation was a success, but I can’t see very well.  It’s kind of like, the operation was a success but the patient died.

My eyes are now black and blue, swollen shut and I have blurred vision.  According to the doctor, this is normal.  That wasn’t mentioned before the procedure.  It’s like buying a used car.  You don’t find out the real story until after the deal.

When I left the day surgery clinic, I was told to put an ice pack on my eyes once per hour for two days.  They said they would provide the ice pack.  They did.  It was a bag of frozen peas.  I am not making this up.

If anyone is interested in buying a bag of peas that cost me about $18,000, I can make you a deal.  If you don’t need an ice pack, you can eat them.

I could let them go for $9,000.

Off Line

My blog will be off line for a couple of days for a medical reason.

Ladie Locker Room

Among the things I do for all humanity is manage an intranet bulletin board for our little commune.  There are almost 600 recipients that daily receive a variety of messages of the happenings that members want to share.  I often ask myself why I do this, and the only answer is from time to time, I process messages that defy imagination.

You must understand that this is a community built around a golf course and golf is the god that rules.  This week I got a message that was apparently trying to clear up postings of the ladies play day results.  The following is an excerpt from that message:

“I post the play day results every time we have a play day in the ladies locker room.”

Folks, I do not know what happens in the ladies locker room, nor do I want to.  And, I do not think it is a good idea to post the results, whatever they may be.  Please bear in mind that the average age of the ladies in this community is about 70.

Do you understand now, why I do this job?

Mexican Law 101

Nobody really knows how many illegal aliens are in this country.  The government estimates about 15 million, but at best, that’s just a guess.  My question of the day is, “What happens if someone enters Mexico illegally?”

First of all, illegal entry or residence is a felony.  One can be fined, sentenced to prison and/or deported.  Mexican citizens who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under Mexican law, and can be sentenced to five years in prison. 
Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order and can be sentenced to six years in prison.  Those that return after deportation can go to jail for 10 years.

The Mexican constitution denies fundamental property rights to non native citizens.  And, the constitution guarantees that immigrants will never be treated as real citizens.  Immigrants are never allowed to participate in the political life, nor will they be treated equally in the job market.  Are you starting to get the idea about Mexico’s immigration policies?

Here’s one more.  The Mexican constitution provides the right of private individuals to make arrest of illegal aliens and turn them over to police for prosecution.

I am all for legal immigration.  There is much to be gained for all concerned.  Yet, the current administration is obsessed with allowing and giving privilege to illegals flooding into this country, violating our own laws. 

I guess it is to be expected from an administration that is busy confusing everyone about which restroom to use.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

A lot has happened in my lifetime?  There definitely has been the good, the bad and the ugly.  The following are some examples.

The good: There have been numerous medical advances.  Surgeries that used to take hours and leave someone in a hospital for days, are now done in minutes and the patient goes home.  Heart transplants and liver transplants and even cornea transplants, are just a few of the “miracles” that have been revealed in a short number of years.

Technology has grown faster than one can keep up with it.  Even something simple as mailing a letter that may takes days to be delivered, can be delivered in seconds electronically.  We have planes and cars that “think” for themselves.  TVs that used to be no more than a eight or ten inch screen in black and white are now as big as a football field.  Microwaves cook our food in minutes that used to take hours sometimes.  Yes, I remember when microwaves came out.  Typing now is done on a computer screen, and not some old clunky machine with sticky keys.  Energy efficient central air conditioning is now in almost every house.  Hey, I remember buying more than one car that didn’t have air conditioning.

The way we deal with people with disabilities has been a phenomenal change.  They are recognized for who they are - people who need understanding and help and offer us all to witness the human spirit at its finest.

The list of the good things that have happened so far is long.

The bad: Government has taken away liberties and added burdensome taxes and continues to everyday.  Schools have lost sight of teaching basic skills and knowledge and focused on social engineering.  Personal responsibility is quickly disappearing.  Whatever happens, it’s someone else fault.  We have become a nation of political correctness, which is strictly political.  With all the wonders of technology, we have new generations that no longer interact with others and have no idea about how to clean a fish or purify water to drink.  If it can’t be fixed with a new battery or cooked in a microwave, there will be absolute anarchy should a real crisis arise.

Again, the list of the bad is long.  Maybe longer because for every good thing, the most important things are being cast to the wayside.

Then there is the ugly: She’s running for president.

If she gets elected, it will be really really ugly.

Popcorn

It has been said that we are known by the friends we keep.  In my case, that would make me really weird.  One of my friends, Linda, can be a little weird.  Okay, maybe a lot weird.

She says that since she is going to be cremated, if conditions allow, she is going to ingest a large amount of unhoped popcorn just before she dies so it will liven up things at the crematory.

I do hope someone lets me know when and where the cremation will take place.

You Don't Have The Right

Walter Williams is one of my favorite people.  He is the John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics at George Mason University, as well as a syndicated columnist and author.  Some of you may have heard him as a guest host on the Rush Limbaugh program.  Dr. Williams is an 80 year old black man that is consumed with logic and common sense.

I read the following today and thought to myself that this needs to be shared, so here it is.

Walter Williams: "As human beings, we all have certain natural rights. Of the rights we possess, we have a right to delegate them to government. For example, we all have a natural right to defend ourselves against predators. Because we possess that right, we can delegate it to government. By contrast, I do not have a right to take one person's earnings to give to another. Because I have no such right, I cannot delegate it to government. If I did take your earnings to provide medical services for another, it would rightfully be described and condemned as an act of theft. When government does the same, it's still theft, albeit legalized theft. If you're a Christian or a Jew, you should be against these so-called rights. When God gave Moses the eighth commandment — 'Thou shalt not steal' — I am sure that he did not mean 'thou shalt not steal unless there is a majority vote in Congress.' The bottom line is medical care, housing and decent jobs are not rights at all, at least not in a free society; they are wishes. As such, I would agree with most Americans — because I, too, wish that everyone had good medical care, decent housing and a good job."

What can I say.  He just makes good sense.

Sums It Up

I was watching a sitcom comedy that I did not usually watch on TV this week when one of the characters gave what I think just may be the mantra for liberal thinking.

“More taxes.  Where’s my free stuff.  And, white men suck.”

You Can

You can have an abortion and have the right to protest in the streets if your right to abort is challenged.

You can drink all the alcohol you want.  In fact you are encouraged to drink.

You can protest in the streets, loot and burn buildings all you want to, so long as you don’t get close to the mayor’s house.

You can destroy historical markers and monuments if you want to.

You can live an alternative life style even if it spreads diseases that kill millions.

You can and are encouraged to have as many sexual partners as you want even if STDs are rampant.

You can attack Judeo-Christian beliefs with just about any other belief you may have.

You can use which ever restroom or locker room you want to.

You can, if you live in the right state, use all the marijuana you want even if it alters your ability to function normally.

You can marry whomever or whatever you want.

You can, and are encouraged to, take government approved drugs with side effects that include disabilities or death.

You can go on television and say anything you want against capitalism, and demand free stuff.

You can blame any group of people for things they don’t know anything about.

You can proclaim your rights and deny others any rights at all.

You can demand that government provide you with anything that richer people may have.

You can abide by only the laws you want to abide by.

You can have public schools that teach only social engineering - not reading, writing and arithmetic.

You can even bury your head in the sand and pretend everything is okay.

But!  You can’t smoke.

Speak Their Language

With the attacks on Christianity and anything related to it by groups, government and other religions, perhaps it is time to learn to speak their language.  The universal language is money.  So, all Christians have to do is stop the money flow to companies that oppose and seek by force to destroy  Christian beliefs and practices.

Should all the denominations come together in a unified boycott with commitment, it would be amazing what would happen.  All it takes is a stubborn commitment.

That’s what the opposition does.

But, they don’t have God on their side.

Take The Doors Off

Well, well, well, there seems to be a problem with transgender bathrooms and locker rooms.  I am shocked. (Sarcasm) Seattle and Toronto don’t get the picture.  They are arresting men, saying they are trans, for taking pictures and sexual assaults.  Where is Bruce Springsteen and all the corporations that support allowing men into the women’s area? 

What happens when a father beats the stuff out of some guy for exposing himself to his child?  There may be a father or two that will do that.  Shouldn't the father be the one going to jail?

Women, you should stand up and fight for your right to be photographed, grouped, and raped.  What is wrong with you?  Parents, how are your children going to be properly indoctrinated if arresting men for these harmless acts is allowed to continue.

Perhaps the answer is to take the doors off restrooms and locker rooms.

Aren’t we all, “You guys?”

United Front

My best guess is that there are about a million groups and blogs that send out about a trillion emails per day.  My guess is based upon the fact that I get half of them.  They all contain names like, liberty, patriot, constitution, and that sort of thing.

Basically, they all contain the same message - the country is going to hell in a hand-basket.  I can’t argue with that.  If one just pays attention with an objective mind, the best we can hope for is communism.

My question is, “Why don’t all these groups band together at one time and present a common message?”  It would have much more impact if timed correctly and contained only the truths that the country needs to hear.

United we stand.  Divided we fall.

Pretty simple.

War On Women

We often hear about the ‘war on women.’  Is there, a war on women?  Yes, there is.  But, can you guess who is waging the war?  Mostly women!

Over the past generation or two, a small number of women, for whatever reason, have successfully convinced women that men are out to get them.  These women apparently never experienced nor do they understand the natural instinct of a man to protect and honor women.  I remember a time when boys were taught to not hit girls, and to always protect them.  In that time, women were treated with respect and dignity.  Where did that go?

In today’s world, men and women refer to everyone as ‘guys.’  “You guys come here,” to a group of men or women or both.  When you are reduced to the level of just being ‘one of the guys’ you have lost your place of honor. 

Marriage was required for a man and woman to live together.  Other women have convinced women today that this is okay.  Reality is that men see it as an opportunity to have the benefits of a wife without any real commitment.

Women have convinced other women that abortion is a ‘right.’  Crudely stated, if one wants to mess around and gets pregnant, then just abort the baby.  That’s not a right, it is getting caught.  Babies are a sacred part of marriage where the woman is honored in motherhood.

The military now is forced to allow women into combat because one or two females can pass a test.  The real test comes in real combat, but that will be too late.  The women that wage the war on women, aren’t concerned about that because they are not going to the military.

The list of things that are forced upon everyone to make women ‘equal’ has reduced the females of the human race to a level of confusion about what to do.  They want to be women.  Just look at all the fashion and makeup advertising.

A fellow that once worked for me was about to enter a door when he noticed a woman following him.  He opened the door and waited for her to enter first.  She sternly looked at him and said, “You don’t have to hold the door for me because I am a lady.”  He replied, “I didn’t.  I did it because I am a gentleman.”

Yes there is a war on women. But, it is not being waged by men.  You are just being led to believe a lie.

Remember, the 'hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.'

Why do you want to give that up?

We The People - Ha Ha Ha

I often hear, “Just how stupid do the politicians think we are?”  They don’t think, they know.  That’s why  it is so easy to impose whatever stupid idea they want.

Stop for just a minute and open your eyes to what has and is happening to you.  Are you stupid?  If not, then why are you allowing the foundation of this nation to be destroyed.  Politicians, celebrities, and the media lap dogs, daily barrage you with what you must think, say and do.  They, all three, perceive themselves to be all seeing and all knowing, and view you as something stuck on their shoe.
Junk science, biological contradictions, and religion allowance, are but a few of what you are told to learn to live with.  You have no choice.  The only rule of law is whatever they want the law to be.
We the people are not people in the eyes that perceive themselves to be all powerful.

Lean to laugh at yourself.

They laugh at you all the time.

Unique

Unique is an unique word.  There is no such thing as very unique or a little unique.  It simply means without equal or equivalent. 

I retired from an electric utility, where I sometime actually did some real work.  It was a nice place to work and the pay was sufficient to get along on.  Today, I became aware that this company is unique in the way it deals with it’s retirees.  The company, many years ago, helped retirees set up clubs and supported them with people to communicate the things that retirees need to know.  It is not unusual for a top executive to drive hours to talk to a group about current events within the company.  Just today, the club I attend, had the Chief Operations Officer speak.  And, we always have benefits representatives to update us on changes in coverage or procedures.

Try as I may, I can’t think of a single other company that has such clubs that are supported in the way this company does.

Over the years, the name of the company has changed, but the dedication to retirees has remained the same.  That’s unique in this world today.

It’s nice to be a part of unique.

Believing Does Not Make It True

Just because you believe something, does not make it so.  People have a tendency to believe what they want to believe.  The danger is believing something that is wrong.

For example, believing in God does not make Him exist.  Nor, does He exist because you believe in Him.  One of my favorite preachers illustrated who Jesus really was with an example of math from a noted mathematician. “For a person to fulfill all the prophesies and miracles, over 100, which Jesus did, is difficult to get one’s brain around.  Just to fulfill 8, would be 8 to the 28 power.  That’s 8, with 28 zeros.”

It’s called undisputable truth.  That’s what you need to know to believe. 

To simplify it, think about puppy love.  Your puppy really does love you unconditionally.

You can believe that too.

What Do You Believe?

Should someone should ask, “What do you believe?”, what would your answer be?  This is a question that most people probably couldn’t answer correctly because as soon as they say something, they would retract or want to reword whatever they said.

It is so much easier to answer a direct question like, “Do you believe in God?”  If your answer is “yes”, then the next question is, “Which one?”  How about, “Do you believe in all that governments want you to believe?”  “Which part do you not believe?”, is the obvious follow up question.

Reality is that most people don’t know what they believe because they rarely think about such an unimportant subject.  And, beliefs are often based upon if one chooses to believe without logic or facts.  This approach is much more common today than it used to be.

I would suggest that you sit down with pen and paper and write down what you truly believe.  Then ask yourself, “Why do I believe?”

If you believe in the tooth fairy and Easter bunny, don’t waste your time making a list.

Just vote for Hillary or Bernie.

Insult

If you really want to insult someone, all you have to do is refuse their offer to help, provided they are capable of being real help. 

Sometimes it is best to explain that you have to learn or need to do something yourself, rather than telling someone no, to an offer of help.  To just refuse help is to say, "I don't need you," or "I don't want your help."  Conversely, to ask for help is a compliment.

But, when you refuse help, you may get an opportunity to really mess up something and make mistakes that could have been avoided, if only you had been smart enough to take the help.

Give A Man A fish

An ancient Chinese proverb states, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”  Well, today that has changed.

Give a man a fish and he will eat today, and tomorrow when he comes to get fed again, you remind him to vote for you.  Teach a man to fish and you can tax him to buy the fish that you give the man that doesn’t know how or won’t fish for himself.

If you tax him enough, he will quit fishing and stand in line to get his free fish for the day.

At least until there are no fish, because nobody is fishing.

Hooray For Tax Freedom Day

Get ready for “Tax Freedom Day.”  This year it falls on April 24th, according to the Tax Foundation.  It’s the day that the whole nation has worked long enough to pay off all federal, state and local taxes - 114 days at a collective tax rate of 31%.  The government on all levels takes in about $5 trillion in taxes, according to the report from the foundation.

Because states vary on taxes, your tax freedom day may vary.  In Texas our day is April 17, but Connecticut has to go all the way to May 21st.  Not to worry, we have a boat load of politicians that are trying to get everyone paying enough that we will all be broke at the same time.

Resident Obama talks about income distribution or “share the wealth.”  If he really wants to redistribute income, it is simple.

Quit taking my money from me!

Take A Short Cut

Alexander Tyler is credited with the following quote that I’m sure that most of you have heard before.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

Because we have had our time and the future is inevitable, I was just wondering what would happen if we just get back to spiritual faith with great courage? 

In other words, take a short cut.

Did You Know?

You could write a large book about the things I don’t know.  But, I’m trying to learn everything I can as fast as I can.  It’s hard to learn much between naps.

I learned today that there is a new change in Social Security.  If a man and wife divorce, and the wife reaches age 62 and starts to draw her exhusband’s Social Security, then her ex reaches 65 and starts to draw his Social Security, the exwife’s check stops.  Again, an example of the brain power in Congress.

We now have the smallest Navy in the history of the country, not to mention all the other cuts to our military.  Is it any wonder that little North Korea and Iran snub their noses and laugh at us.

Low income families not only get food stamps, but their children get free breakfast and lunch at school, with a plan now to feed them dinner too.  How can we have hungry children in this country with free meals and food stamps?

Enough learning.  My head is beginning to hurt.

Ignorance may be bliss, but it also will kill you, and/or bankrupt you.

Volunteering

Volunteering is supposed to make one feel good.  All it has done for me is make me crazier than I was before I started - and that’s bad.  For the past eight years, I’ve been the sole volunteer for managing meetings for a group of retirees.  The past three years, I’ve added another group of retirees and a whole community of people that can’t follow simple rules on an electronic community bulletin board.

These jobs would not be so bad if it weren’t for the people.  Let me clarify that, certain people.  Those that have no idea what it takes to make these groups work, cause me untold misery.  Everyday, I forget the majority that seems to appreciate what I do, because of the minority that create enough problems for everybody.

I don’t feel any better after complaining and I still don’t know why I continue to do this.

Maybe when those few get to heaven, God will put them in charge of herding cats.

No Rule Of Law

Donald Trump said that if abortion is banned, then a woman that has an abortion should receive some kind of punishment.  The statement caused quite a stir.  Can you imagine, if a woman breaks the law (provided abortion is banned) then said woman should be punished.  Punishing someone for breaking a law is heresy.

Why, it would just be like millions of people breaking the law by invading this country illegally.  According to vote seekers and media mouthpieces, they did nothing wrong.

When the rule of law no longer applies, then the nation no longer exist.

EMPs

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry is Executive Director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security and Director of the U.S. Nuclear Strategy Forum, both Congressional Advisory Boards, and served on the Congressional EMP Commission, the Congressional Strategic Posture Commission, the House Armed Services Committee, and the CIA.  About a week ago I watched an interview with Dr. Pry about the danger of electromagnetic pulses.  He pointed out how it is not difficult to launch an attack that would destroy the electric grid in this country.  If you don’t know what that means, simply stated it means that there would be no electricity and most electronics would be “fried” and rendered worthless.  Without electricity, the country would not only fall into darkness, it would fall into mayhem. 

Electricity is necessary to supply water and food and other essentials to daily life.  In less than a week we would be out of food and transportation would stop because of a lack of fuel with no power to pump it.

This is serious business.  And, Dr. Pry suggests that government has taken steps to protect the military and certain individuals, but not the population.  By his estimate, it would take about $2 billion to add measures to ensure safety from an EMP.  But there still is no action taken.

It is estimated that 90% of our population would be dead in a few days, because of lack of food and water and ensuing chaos.  That’s hard to imagine, but such an event is possible and probable by more than one of our enemies.  North Korea has already successfully fired a missile that disrupted the GPS tracking systems of ships in an area off their coast.  We live in a dangerous world.

If all this doesn’t concern you, then this will.  Your iPhone won’t work and there will be no way to connect to Facebook.

That ought to get some attention.

April Fools

April fools day is celebrated on April 1st, but no one is exactly when and why it was started.  Some records indicate it may go back to the Roman Empire days.  The jokes and the receivers are referred to ‘fools,’ hence the name.

So, therefore and in accordance with, here is my effort for April Fools.

Breaking News! 

Hillary has just announced that if she is the Democratic candidate, she will choose Michelle Obama as her running mate.

Obama has resigned to manage Donald Trump’s investments in Dubai.

Vice President Joe Biden has announced he has plans to adopt Ted Cruz.

Donald Trump responded to the latest media attack by saying, “Who, What, When?”

Bernie Sanders, not to be outdone by Hillary, has announced Whoopi Goldberg will run with him as co-president.

And, all city, county, state and federal taxes, tariffs, fees and surcharges have been rescinded until next April 1st.

The scary part is that there may be some truth in one of these.
