Many years ago I worked with a fellow named Mike, whom I dubbed "Mikey." He was one of the managers in our department and I got the idea that he really didn’t like the nickname. But, I never let that stop me from calling him "Mikey."
Recently I found a stack of old business cards and there was one with his name and phone numbers, including a cell phone. Wanting to check on him and renew our friendship, we became good friends, I decided to give him a call. When he answered, I asked, "Is this "Mikey?" I knew he would know was calling. He didn’t.
I discovered Mike is now in a memory care facility and doesn’t know most people. Not knowing exactly what to do, I continued to explain who I was, but he still did not remember me. He did recall three people out of the department of about 40.
He explained where he was and that he was getting excellent care. And, I encouraged him and wished him well. Then, he said that he did remember me. He said, "you’re the guy that nicknamed me "Mikey." He seemed happy that he knew me and that I called.
In time Mike will remember less and less, and fewer and fewer people.
It’s okay Mike. We remember you.

Where We Are
Thomas Paine said, "These are times that try men’s souls." He wrote that when this country was in crisis. We face a crisis today that may be more challenging than a revolutionary war. At every turn there is condemnation of what happened over 200 years ago, with no thought of how the evolution of a small band of colonies grew to become the greatest nation in the history of mankind.
Political correctness, which is political and not correct, has like a cancer eaten away at the very life of freedom and rights. It has gone from something that people laughed at to a force that can even forbid laughing at all.
I had the opportunity to visit with a cousin-in-law this week that I haven’t seen in a long time. He shared a story about his job at a Dallas area college. He was required to attend a sensitivity and sexual harassment training. In the training he was presented with the following scenario:
Instructor: You are exiting a men’s restroom where directly across the hall is a women’s restroom. Just as you exit, a woman is coming out. You notice that she has pulled up her undergarments and caught her dress in them. What would you do?
Cousin: I would politely bring her attention to what she had done.
Instructor: When you approached her, would you touch her?
Cousin: Yes, to get her attention.
Instructor: Where would you touch her?
Cousin: I would touch her on the shoulder.
Instructor: You would have committed sexual assault. You should step around and get in front of her to get her attention and then quietly point out the error. Now, how would you handle the situation?
Cousin: I didn’t see anything.
If you take the instructor’s point of view as being correct, you cannot understand the true human compassion of one person trying to help another from being embarrassed.
This is where we live today.
In times that try men’s souls.

75 Years
My in-laws celebrated their 75th anniversary this week. By celebrated I mean they stayed awake for most of the party we had for them. Being married 75 years is something uncommon these days. In fact, being married 75 weeks these days is quite an accomplishment in some circles.
I have known my in-laws for about 60 of those 75 years and I am still amazed how opposites attract. She was a school teacher with a masters degree and he was a laborer and tradesman. But, they have had total dedication to each other for all those years. They took their vows seriously, through the good and bad times.
The only answer I have for such a long marriage is perhaps the circumstances when they married. They married and three months later he reported to the Navy for duty in the early days of World War II.
After being married for 75 years, I’m guessing WWII was a piece of cake.

JFK Files
Big Deal. They have released the files on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. And, golly gee, there still are no answers to satisfy those that want a conspiracy. Apparently Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the murder on November 22, 1963. We are certain that Jack Ruby shot Oswald, but that action took place on live television.
While there are more redacted files that may or may not be released next year, this may remain a closed event. Personally I have always thought that Oswald acted alone, and was probably insane because that would be the condition required to do such a thing.
As much as the conspiracy theorist want to blame someone, they will have to wait until historians rewrite history as they often do.
One thing is sure. It was a horrendous deed and a dark day for the country. One that should never be repeated.

Bit Of Borrowed Satire
Sometimes I read something that bears repeating, especially satire. I do love good satire and this is one of those writings that should be passed along.
ByMatt Walsh
@@MattWalshBlog
As posted in the Daily
Wire
It's important for white children to understand at a very young age that they are a cancer on the Earth and everything they do is racist. There is probably no better time to drive this into their bigoted heads than Halloween, a holiday rife with problematic potential. On that note, several articles have recently been written explaining why your daughter is essentially committing genocide if she dresses like Moana for trick or treating this year.
In case you haven't seen the film because you're racist, a quick recap: "Moana" tells the inspiring story of a spunky little Polynesian girl who saves her island and the entire world by publishing a series of feminist pamphlets decrying gendered wage disparity in the workforce. At least that's how I interpreted it, viewing it through the lens of an extremely woke individual.
Obviously, dressing as Moana for Halloween is a form of cultural appropriation because Moana isn't white. She also isn't anything, really, because she's a fictional character. But let's not get bogged down by details. In fact, an article at RaceConscious.org explains that the appropriation is all the more appropriative in this case because Moana, a film featuring a magical singing demigod and a sentient island that turns into a giant demonic beast and then back into an island again [spoiler], is "based on real history."
The author goes on to argue that it could even be racist to dress up like Elsa because Elsa is white. It seems very confusing, especially to white people, because white people are all profoundly stupid (except for me) compared to more advanced races. The Offensive Costume Matrix has gotten so complex that a college magazine had to print an entire flowchart explaining how to correctly select Halloween costumes without persecuting 4/5 of the globe.
I've decided to add my voice to this discussion by providing a handy list of nine simple ways to avoid being racist on Halloween. It goes without saying that these rules, like all rules, are intended for white cisgendered heterosexuals only. Everyone else can do literally whatever they want. Indeed, the article cited above closes by touting a black version of Elsa. Is it racist for a black person to dress up like a Norwegian character? No. Norwegian culture is white so it doesn't count. I don't even think Norwegia is a real place, to be honest. Just another lie made up by the white man.
Anyway, here we go:
1. Avoid costumes based on characters outside your race.
This has been covered but it bears repeating. It is absolutely demeaning and insensitive to pretend to be something you're not. Unless you're a man pretending to be a woman, in which case a parade should be thrown in your honor. Now, you might retort that the entire freaking point of Halloween is to pretend to be something you're not, but that argument only reveals your white privilege.
Look, it's simple: people of color are not here for your amusement. It is not acceptable to make a mockery of an entire race of people, even if your intention is to pay them homage. It's hard for you to understand the pain caused by cultural caricatures because you're white and nobody ever makes a caricature of white people. Incidentally, I had a great discussion about this very point
2. Avoid costumes based on characters of the same race.
What kind of message are you sending when you dress as a white person for Halloween? Are minority cultures not worthy of your attention? Would you be embarrassed to be seen in a costume associated with a race you clearly find inferior? Do you think the only good fictional characters are white? A white child dressed as a white character is advocating segregation. She might as well just dress up as Jim Crow. The one thing more bigoted than mocking a person of color by dressing like them is excluding them by not dressing like them. You should be ashamed.
3. Avoid costumes made from material that originates from historically oppressed regions.
Costumes made from cotton are definitely out, for obvious reasons. Costumes featuring anything gold or sparkly must be ruled out because they may remind Indigenous People of the European explorers who came here to rape their land and steal their gold. Actually, all fabrics must be ruled out because
4. Avoid costumes made from material that does not originate from historically oppressed regions.
What are you trying to prove by dressing your kid in that plastic Batman costume? Plastic was invented by a white man, which is a point of pride for white supremacists everywhere. Are you a white supremacist? Is your kid? When you wear plastic, you otherize and exclude marginalized people who did not have the opportunity to invent plastic. Try to be a little sensitive for a change, you worthless, drooling, knuckle dragging, Nazi caveman.
5. Avoid costumes that marginalized people would prefer you not wear.
This isn't hard. If a person from a marginalized group is offended by your costume for any reason whatsoever, you must immediately tear it off and run through the street naked, beating your chest and screaming, "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa." The safest approach is to gather together a focus group of your 500 closest minority friends and have them vote on the appropriateness of your costume. This is the process I follow before I get dressed every day. It only takes about 8 to 10 hours, usually. A small price to pay in the name of combating white supremacy.
6. Avoid costumes you buy from the store.
Think about it: If you buy a costume from a local retailer, that's one fewer costume that will be available for the next African-American, Latinx, Sudanese, or Cambodian who walks through the door. In a sense, by purchasing the costume, you are stealing it from a Cambodian.
Worst of all, store-bought costumes advertise your wealth and privilege to disadvantaged groups who've long dreamed of going on a shopping spree at
7. Avoid homemade costumes.
Is there any more obnoxious way to flaunt your privilege than to wear a costume you made yourself? Think about the impact this may have on those around you. When I was a child, I wanted to be a knight for Halloween so my mom covered a cereal box in tin foil and put it on my head. As I walked down the street, thousands of black and Hispanic children looked at my ritzy, homemade outfit and wept. I learned then how dangerous Halloween can be.
The other problem is that homemade clothing is customary in many African and Asian cultures. They've stitched their own garbs for millennia. It is highly presumptuous for a white person to partake in such an intimate and longstanding minority tradition. How could you even consider doing something that minorities do -- or don't do?
8. Avoid costumes.
All costumes are cultural appropriation by definition. If you'd studied your history, you'd know that non-white cultures have always worn costumes for their various wonderful festivals and so forth. The Wodaabe tribe in
9. Avoid avoiding costumes.
Only a racist would forfeit costumes entirely. To forgo costumes on Halloween communicates two things to marginalized populations: A) You don't want to offend them because you're afraid of them, which perpetuates the myth of the dangerous minority. B) You don't want to partake in this fun holiday with minorities because they aren't equal to you. Your decision to not wear a costume can be extremely dehumanizing to non-white people. Almost as dehumanizing as your decision to wear a costume.
These are the rules. They will be strictly enforced. Any white child who comes knocking at my door will have to follow the above protocols, and pass a short cultural sensitivity quiz, in order to receive a treat. If they fail, well, they'll just have to hope the guy next door is handing out gluten-free pita chips. Mine are reserved for non-racists only.
As Larry the Cable Guy might say, "On’t care who you are, at’s funny."

Cave On The Moon
Japanese scientist reportedly have recently discovered a cave on the moon. It may be over 30 miles long and 300 feet wide. The cave was reported formed about 3.5 billion years ago as a result of volcanic activity. The Japanese have said they knew about the cave, but have just now confirmed it. They plan to put an astronaut on the moon in 2030.
So what’s the big deal about a cave of such proportions? Well, scientist see it as a potential shelter that may lead to habitation on the moon. I suppose that it may be a place to get out of the sun, if it is on the dark side.
Wouldn’t it be a bit funny if they get there and discover that ISIS is already hiding in the cave?
Hey, it could happen.

H.W.
Former President George H.W. Bush has been accused of sexually assaulting actress Heather Lind during a screening of her AMC show. Lind says Bush touched her "from behind his wheelchair, with his wife, Barbara, by his side. And, then he told her a "dirty joke" and touched her again.
Bush has apologized and his representative said the former president might have erred in an attempt at humor. Ya think? Bush is 93 years old.
Did he do it - touch her? I don’t know, I wasn’t there. Or, is Lind looking to get in on the Hollywood hunt? I have no way of knowing that. If I was a wild-eyed liberal I would know for sure he did, even though I was not there.
Let’s look at the other side, and not just this incident. Do women have a part in sexual harassment? It is such a broad term and would include a man scratching an itch he could not stand otherwise. I’m not about to condone real cases of assault, rape, or even harassment. It is wrong by any standard. But, I do have to wonder if some of the accused are guilty. Especially in the Hollywood hunt. The women waited years, after they became stars, to mention it. If they got what they wanted, then it may just be part of a deal.
Just think about it objectively.

Certainties
There’s not a lot in this life that is certain, besides death and taxes and taxes go on after you are dead. However, a couple of things are pretty sure. First is the way the Democratic party has kept people in poverty and even slavery for hundreds of years. "What?", you say. "Yes." The finest propaganda machine in history keeps the populous stirred up with whatever distraction happens, to keep attention away from what they really do - keep as many people as possible as dumb as possible.
Next is the certainty that the media will act as useful idiots to deliver the approved messages to the masses. Because they perceive themselves as part of the elite.
When someone says, "nothing is certain," you can now reply, "yes there are four things."
Unless you are told not to by the demagogues and media.

Pledge
I wonder what the NFL’s policy is on reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Actually I think I know. The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892 with the idea of expressing allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
On January 14, 1969 Red Skelton presented the following on his TV show to explain what it all means:
I: me, an individual, a committee of one.
PLEDGE: dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
ALLEGIANCE: my love and my devotion.
TO THE FLAG: our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom.
Wherever she waves, there is respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job.
OF THE UNITED: that means that we have all come together.
STATES: individual communities that have united into 48 great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose, all divided with imaginary boundaries yet united to a common purpose, and that's love for country.
OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC: a state in which sovereign power is vested in
representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
FOR WHICH IT STANDS ONE NATION: meaning, so blessed by God.
INDIVISIBLE: incapable of being divided.
WITH LIBERTY: which is freedom, the right of power to live one's own life without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.
AND JUSTICE: the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.
FOR ALL: which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance: UNDER GOD
Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said, "That is a prayer," and that would be eliminated from schools, too? "
When you hear the National Anthem and recite the Pledge, if there is no pride in your heart for being a part of the greatest nation on earth, by all means you have the right to disrespect every one that does. And, everyone that does feel the power of indivisible individuals have the right to view you for what you are.
America is not perfect, but there has been and will continue to be so much progress in fulfilling the dreams describe in the Pledge and proclaimed in the Anthem.
One nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Gehenna
I assume that by now everyone that can read has heard of hell. Some of you may have been invited to visit there. Technically the word hell comes from the Hebrew word Gehenna and is generally accepted to identify a place outside the walls of Jerusalem - a trash dump. It was as place where fires were kept burning to keep down the stench. Please note, it was not only a trash dump, but a place where the bodies of criminals or individuals denied a proper burial were dumped. This was a terrible place.
Many years ago, in the small town where I grew up, the city would burn the trash dump from time to time. Most of the time, they would set the fires when the wind was blowing away from town, but wind has a way of switching around. The smell was sickening to say the least. And, when you throw in a Texas summer heat day, it made everyone want to move.
Gehenna is a word to describe the literal place with a symbolic location that people could relate to. It was the worse place on earth, just as the literal hell will be.
We don’t know a lot about heaven except it is paradise. I hate to burst your bubble, but there probably are no streets of gold and pearly gates. We do know that there is peace and joy there.
Wether you believe in heaven and hell is up to you, but be aware that both are literal.
Ask a Texan if he believes in hell and most will reply, "hell yes."

Respect
When I was a boy there were many things that were sacred and deserved respect. The flag was truly the symbol of our nation and was not to be disrespected in any manner. Women were to be not only respected but looked upon with honor. The passing of anyone was a time that you showed respect, regardless of their perceived status in life.
Police, fire fighters, teachers, doctors and anyone in the military were respected by all. Children addressed adults as Mr., Miss or Mrs. And, they said, "Yes Sir or yes Mam." That included the parents of the other children you played with.
People didn’t have to demand respect because they were treated respectfully because they behaved in like kind. Everyone was expected to be respectful and courteous. Whoa unto you when you got home, if you didn’t.
Every religion was scared and treated as such. The Bible was recognized as the Holy Book it is. Ministers and preachers were treated with a special respect. That was because of who they worked for.
But all of that has gone away. "Times have changed," as they say. Life is no longer sacred. We live in a "liberated society" with "progressive" thinking.
The question is, "What was given up to get here?"

I have said before that today we have less of a race problem in this country than a culture problem. Guess what? That is nothing new. Hyphenated Americans have been around for a long time.
The term "hyphenated American" was published by 1889, and was common as a derogatory term by 1904. During World War I the issue arose of the primary political loyalty of ethnic groups with close ties to Europe, especially German Americans and also Irish Americans. Former President Theodore Roosevelt in speaking to the largely Irish Catholic Knights of Columbus at Carnegie Hall on Columbus Day 1915, said:
There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all … The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic … There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
President Woodrow Wilson regarded "hyphenated Americans" with suspicion, saying, "Any man who carries a hyphen about with him carries a dagger that he is ready to plunge into the vitals of this Republic whenever he gets ready."
Why do people want to hold on to something that stands between them and a united America? I don’t know or understand.
If I had to be hyphenated, I would have to be a redneck-American.

Say It Again
I have expressed my fear for the demise of America before, but I want to say it again. It is not North Korea that scares me, nor Iran or even Russia. The Islamic radicals don’t cause me much worry, and they are already here and doing damage.
The ones that I fear as the greatest threat to the Americans are other Americans - in name only. They work daily to establish a form of communism under the guise of social change. And, they are supported by the "UIs"- useful idiots- known as the media. The combination is frightening.
Just open your eyes and see how your rights have gone away and the rights of radical liberalism has taken their place.
Or, sit with your eyes closed and wait.
It won’t be long.

Winston Churchill has often been called the "right man, in the right place, at the right time." And, he was. Had it not been for Sir Winston, the outcome of WWII would have been different. But he is also remembered as a man with a sharp tongue. Certainly all the stories told about him are not true, but some claim that some are. Here are a couple of examples.
Churchill speaking to a wealthy socialite:
Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill… Well, I suppose… we would have to discuss terms, of course…
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?
Churchill: Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.
Then, there’s the one about an encounter with Bessie Braddock, of Liverpool.
Bessie: Mr. Churchill, you are drunk. Furthermore, you are disgustingly drunk.
Winston: Ms Braddock, you are ugly. Furthermore, you are disgustingly ugly. Tomorrow I shall be sober.
Maybe that’s why he was kicked out after the war.

Hurray For Hollywood
I’m sure that to some it is exciting and refreshing to see Hollywood exposed for sexual harassment and rape. Hollywood is officially taking a stand about this immoral behavior, and is still standing united for gun control, according to the talking heads on TV.
Well! It’s about time. I’m sure they will now take all the nudity, women and men, out of movies as well as all the guns shooting everybody. Surely their product will change from trying to shape lives to follow their heretofore lifestyle practices. Well, maybe not. If they can’t make movies about sex and shooting, what else is left?
Stand by for remakes on Bambi and Old Yeller.
When donkeys fly.

Cdalifornia
Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill that can send people to jail if they refuse to use the preferred gender pronouns of nursing home residents. The law is limited to nursing homes and other long-term facilities. Anyone that "willfully and repeatedly" refuses to use a transgender resident’s preferred name or pronoun can be fined $1000 and up to one year in prison. And, the law also allows residents to use the bathroom of their choice, regardless of their biological sex.
The bill was authored by state Senator Scott Wiener of San Francisco. I don’t know if he is related to ‘Anthony’ or not.
My experience with nursing home residents is that some of them, on any given day, don’t know their name, let alone what sex they are.
Just be careful if you have to visit grandma in a nursing home in California. It is best to ask if she is now grandpa.
Is it any wonder people are leaving California in droves?

Rush Is Right
I don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh very often, but I caught part of his radio program this week while I was traveling to meet a friend for lunch. We each travel about an hour to meet "in the middle" once or twice per year.
Rush can be entertaining, and sometimes he makes sense. What I heard was one of those make sense times. He suggested that if Harvey Weinstein wants to solve his problems with women, all he has to do is hire Hillary (Hilldawg) Clinton to get rid of the mess he’s in. There is no one better in the world at attacking the women making claims against a man for sexual harassment or worse. She’s done it lots of times for hubby Bill. She is ‘the’ expert at taking the offense and making the accusers wish they had never said a word. I bet that Bill Cosby wishes he had thought of her.
Heads up Harvey.
Hire Hilldawg.

Boy Scouts
So the Boy Scouts are now the Girl Scouts. Or, maybe it’s the other way around. Who can tell, but the Girl Scouts are crying foul. What I do know is that the Boy Scouts were an organization dedicated to teaching young men and boys how to be better citizens and people. And, they taught them in ways that boys understand. I also know that girls think differently than boys and when you mix them, everybody thinks differently.
Over my years, I supported the Boy Scouts and always bought Girl Scout cookies. A few years ago I stopped both for what, to me, should be obvious reasons. That’s sad. Because these two organizations have such a proud history, and now both have been destroyed by those that have no other intent than to destroy.
Yes, they will linger on for awhile and hopefully some participants will learn about honor, honesty and integrity. But, it will be much harder to teach and to learn.
Another part of the foundation this country stands on has been removed.
When will it all fall?

Just For Fun
Tee shirts and bumper stickers are often amusing and sometimes thought provoking. I don’t know why, but I find myself reading them where ever I go, perhaps because it is a diversion from whatever I am supposed to be doing.
The following are some of my favorites and you may just find one that you like.
"Remember, if we get caught, you’re deaf and I don’t speak English."
"I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you."
"You are about to exceed the limits of my medication."
"Sometimes when I open my mouth, my mother comes out."
"Sorry I’m late. I didn’t want to come."
And, last but not least, "I’m going to stop asking, ‘How dumb can you get?’ People seem to be taking it as a challenge."

People Problem Solved
The problem with the world is people. There are just too many people. And, most of them refuse to listen to the wild eyed liberal explanations of why the world is facing utter destruction.
There are reportedly about 9 billion people in the world, give or take a million or two. This presents a problem when it comes to stopping global warming (climate change), gun violence, and the spread of Christianity, just to mention a few. Therefore, it is now believed the only solution is to get rid of all the people, except a select few enlightened elites. But that is going to be a problem. Just how do you eradicate 9 billion people? The solution is quite simple.
Send them all to Chicago for an extended holiday weekend.
You will have to provide them ammunition.

Gun Control
If all the politicians and other uninformed people truly want to get rid of guns, all they have to do is pass a 28th Amendment that repeals the 2nd Amendment. It takes 38 states to ratify the Amendment.
There are two chances of that happening.
None and zero.

Dog And Cats
Animals have rights, more than humans in some cases. Case in point, a man in East Texas has a dog that was attacked by a neighbor’s cat. That’s animal nature, dogs and cats fight. And, the cat usually wins.
It is reported that the man and dog were on his property when the cat came over and attacked the dog, doing some damage to the dog. The man, in an effort to protect his dog, hit the cat with something, doing some damage to the cat. The dog and the cat survived. But, the man didn’t win the attack.
He was arrested and charged with a 3rd degree felony for doing harm to the cat. What would have happened if the man had been trying to protect another human? He would not have been arrested and the attacker would have been arrested.
Are animal rights right?
To be safe, be nice to the kitty.

Gun Facts
With all the cries again to have more gun controls, it is time to have a few gun facts. First of course, is guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Every year there are people killed by numerous means - clubs, knives, cars, poison, beaten by fist, strangled, suffocated, and the list goes on and on.
Guns are no more than a tool, created for hunting, self-defense and sport shooting. Every year millions enjoy hunting and sport shooting - just like golf. And, every year there are those that must use a gun for self-defense, or to stop or prevent a crime. Facts are that some people don’t want other people killing them or someone else, so they use a gun to stop them.
When you hear the anti-gun people on TV shout about a gun that shoots 600 rounds per minute, don’t get all excited. Some rifles hold 30 rounds max - not 600. That’s about 3 seconds worth, and at that speed, accuracy goes away. Rifles fired at 600 rounds per minute would melt the barrel very quickly.
I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating, "If all guns were banned, or if everyone was required to carry a gun, the shooting in Las Vegas would have happened.
There is a people problem, not a gun problem.

I Miss These Things
When you get older and hopefully wiser, you reflect upon life and see more clearly the important things. Those things that make living better and happier.
Courtesy, manners, civility, respect and decency are just a few of the things that are fading away from our society. When you add morality, honesty, integrity and honor to the list, you pretty well remove from human nature the ability for a democracy to survive.
I see less and less of these today.
What will you miss tomorrow?

Celebrities
If celebrities were not allowed on TV to espouse their opinions about how to run the country, television would be a lot more enjoyable. How is it that these people that obviously know nothing about everything are experts on anything?
Maybe that’s why the host of "America’s Game," sarcastically said:
"OK, let me explain this again: We're celebs. We're wiser & more empathetic than you. We are famous. Please take our opinions more seriously." —Pat Sajak

Restoration Prayer
There is so much that needs to be restored to make America great again. We will have to get back to the basics of civility and unity.
There are those that pray daily for this country and I would like to offer the following suggestion from a wise man, Abraham Lincoln.
"Don’t pray God is on our side, pray that we are on God’s side. He is never wrong."

Here We Go Again
Before I say anything else, let me assure of this, "If absolutely all guns had been banned or if everyone had been required to carry a gun, Las Vegas would have happened anyway."
The liberals and the media are on their hypocrite box again. They don’t like soap boxes, because some soap may be left in them and cause them to tell a truth. There is condemnation from every direction to the NRA and anyone that supports the Second Amendment. I won’t mention names because they are not worth mentioning, but one executive was fired because she said it was okay to kill Trump supporters - not exactly her words, but you get the idea. A comedian said that we should pray for God to forgive "us" for allowing the Vegas tragedy to happen.
In other words, it is our fault that a madman killed and wounded hundreds of people, but it’s okay if they are not liberals. Let that sink in.
There is no point to cite the facts about guns and gun control. If you don’t agree with the liberal point of view, you are not to be heard.
The world is a dangerous place.
All the controls in the world won’t stop it.

Las Vegas Shooting
Our prayers go out to the families of those killed in Las Vegas. And, for those injured, wishing them a complete recovery. It is another tragedy that no one can really understand. It may be weeks before all the facts are in and even then, the only explanation is likely to be ‘insanity.’
This world is fully of insanity, making it a dangerous place everyday. And, there is absolutely nothing that can be done to prevent events like this one from happening again. All the gun control laws in the world will not stop people that cannot stop themselves. But, be sure that there is about to be another attack on gun owners. The democrats and media are already licking their chops.
Like millions, I watched and listened to "new" programs to get as much information as could be released. But, as usual, I got very few facts and a lot of opinion and speculation.
One such speculation was that the killer had a hunting license from Alaska so he must know how to convert a semiautomatic weapon into a fully automatic. I’ve had numerous hunting licenses, but I don’t know how.
May the peace that goes beyond understanding be upon those in pain and grief.

Two Minutes
With all the shouting protest about statues and flags, it would be interesting to see what the result would be if all the citizens involved were required to write and deliver a two minute speech to whatever governing body involved.
The objective would be to allow both sides of an issue to make a time restricted presentation. Then the governing body would make a decision.
Stop and think how difficult it would be to summarize everything you want to say in two minutes. Reality is that all the fluff and stuff would go away.
There would be a lot of legitimate arguments.
And, there would be a lot of fools revealed.
