Someone said to never believe what you hear and only half of what you see. There is discussion as to actually said it, but I have to believe they were talking about the media in America. Everyday, there are so many “news” stories that are construed to present the view of a reporter or some other reason. Facts are left out, quotes are taken out of context, and if all else fails, a report may be made up entirely.
Mark Twain said, “Those that don’t read a newspaper are uninformed, and those that do are misinformed.”
Back in the day of one of my previous lives, a fellow reporter that worked for a newspaper used to say, “Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.”
Remember that the next time you read, hear or watch the news.
