The question is, "What are you willing to die for?" Would you give your life for your country? Or, would you roll over and become a slave or even killed? We are fortunate that we have young people that are willing to serve and protect our homeland, at all cost.
This is exactly what the young and old people of the Confederate States asked themselves. And, they were willing to die for their country. It’s all a part of the history of this country, and there are so many lessons to be learned from this history. Remember, "those who refuse to learn from past mistakes, are doomed to repeat them."
You cannot erase history by taking down monuments. Nor should they be taken down. The people were honored at a time that is not now, for their bravery and dedication to a newly formed country.
It is those that would try to erase the past that should be ashamed.
