I have been the president, secretary and treasurer of a retiree club, that I formed here, for the past four years. It is a bunch of old people that are retired from the company where I worked for 30 years. My mission was to have meetings twice per year to keep everyone updated on company benefit changes, as well as other information of interest to retirees.
The problem with being a one man show is that eventually you get very tired. I’ve tried and tried to get some help, but no one wanted to get involved. At our last meeting I announced that they needed to get someone to replace me. Guess what? Three people are now ready to take over.
So, at the spring meeting we will have a whole new crew to be trained. There will be the President in training, or PIT, and the Secretary in training or the SIT.
Lastly there will be the Treasurer in training.
