The Truth

"I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and everything but the truth." That line came from a movie I saw once. Every time I hear a politician or newscaster speak, I think about that line.

Will Rogers said, " Nothing makes a man, or a body of men, as mad as the truth." This would explain why so many people today are angry. The truth is not what we are accustomed to hearing. All it takes is a little research to find that what we are told about government and laws may contain some truth, but the devil is always in the details.

It is apparent that this country is broke or soon will be. I admit that I am not real good at math but when you spend more than you take in and build on credit that you can’t repay, there is going to be the inevitable end.

I don’t have the solution to Social Security, Medicare or any of the numerous "entitlement" programs. However, I’ve learned that when what you’re doing is only making matters worse, then stop doing it.

Again to quote Mr. Rogers, "It isn’t what we know that gives us trouble, it’s what we know that ain’t so." No matter how many experts spout how many theories and plans, it just ain’t so. "You can’t spend yourself out of debt."
