Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those Americans that gave their lives in service to this country. Truth is, no U.S. soldier ever goes into battle wanting to die for his country. Yes, it does happen in other countries and cultures, but Americans value life, especially their own.
Soldiers are trained in devotion to duty, honor, integrity and a strong sense of right and wrong. They believe by their service, the nation is a better and safer place.
So, we are now left with the question, "If they knew how this country would turn out after they gave their all, would they still run toward the sound of battle."
