Labor Day is celebrated all across the country and Canada, on the first Monday of September. It is supposed to celebrate the contributions made by the working folks - a.k.a. ‘Peons.’ So for the past 120 years or so, everybody goes to the lake and drinks beer. Well, maybe not everybody.
It is also, for those elites, the last day of the year to wear white or seersucker. Please remember that. You don’t want to get caught wearing white or seersucker. That means I can’t wear one of my favorite shirts until next year. I don’t know when the start day is.
Yes, I am rambling, but the important thing is that government was forced to recognize that the working people actually contribute to the good of the country and should be celebrated.
I have searched and searched, but I can’t find the date government quit acknowledging that without working people, they would not have any money to give away and make deals that benefit them only.
Labor Day is not for grumpy old retired people like me.
When you are retired, you don’t get off for any holidays.
