Jane

Most of you have heard about Jane, or at least what Jane did in 1973. She died in February, 2017 in Texas, of a heart ailment. Jane lived a troubled life but became the hero of millions of women and the enemy of millions too. Jane was Jane Roe, of Roe vs Wade, when the Supreme Court ruled that abortion was legal in this country.

It is interesting that Norma McCorvey, her real name, never had an abortion, although she was pregnant when she filed the case to allow abortions. Even more interesting is that she later said, "I believe that I was used and abused by the court system in America. Instead of helping women in Roe vs Wade, I brought destruction to me and millions of women throughout the nation."

Norma worked in abortion clinics in 1992 and observed the low regard for women from abortion doctors. She also saw first hand the baby parts, which are horrible to see, she said. Norma struggled with drugs and alcohol to cover the pain she felt. But, something happened and she was baptized by a preacher in a swimming pool in Texas. She spent the rest of her life condemning abortion for what it is - the death of a baby.

Since 1973 there have been over 50 million abortions. Norma’s question to a Senate committee still needs an answer.

"I saw women crying in the recovery rooms. If abortion is so right, why were the women crying?"
