This is another one of my wonderful bits of advice I render as a public service - absolutely no charge. Whatever you do, don’t move anywhere. Wherever you currently live, stay there until you die - even longer if you have no funeral arrangements.
For the past few weeks we have been trying to pack boxes and throw away really valuable stuff. At this moment, it does not look like we will be ready for the movers. But, I bet they have met people like me before - well, maybe not.
The primary reason that moving is bad is because there are a lot of people that want to know where you are - post office, banks, social security, medicare, drivers license, doctors, investment companies, credit card companies, magazines, memberships, insurance companies, and the list goes on and on. And, I have discovered that when you deal with the State of Texas, there is a fee for changing anything. I think I paid more for the change of address on my licenses than I did to get them.
Since I am the primary ‘get er done’ person at my house, I also have to make all the changes for my financial controller. Wait until she finds out that she is now a resident of Iraq.
With a Texas drivers license.
