Okay, I gave up. I got a new cell phone - gave up the game boy with a phone feature. That’s what I call smart phones. No, I did not get one with a rotary dial. I couldn’t find one.
The new phone actually allows me to make calls without going through a series of button pushing. It even has speed dial and voice commands. Yes, it does have "apps" but as of yet, I don’t use them. And, of course it has lots of features than any red bloodied grumpy old man would never use. Texting, video messaging, email and push to talk. I don’t know anyone who has push to talk, so I don’t push.
While it is not a solid basic phone like the old one, it seems to work for me. And there is one feature that I like. It has a flashlight. I’ve only made a couple of calls, but I ran the battery down playing with that flashlight.
It doesn’t take much to keep me entertained.
