My friend, Dr. Wild Bill, the preacher, writes a blog. He presented an argument about truth and how churches and society are denying Biblical truths. I think I have heard this before.
The truth is that people don’t want to know the truth if it doesn’t match what they want to hear and believe. As a society, Americans have drifted so far from truths, they probably would not recognize one. As Dr. Bill states, churches want to keep people in their congregations. Especially young people. The problem is that the young have made up their own set of truths and they don’t match the Bible.
I am reminded of Colonel Nathan R. Jessep, - A Few Good Men - as he was questioned by young Lieutenant JG, Daniel Kaffee demanding he tell the truth in trial. Jessep shouts, "You can’t stand the truth."
That’s the truth.
