Two plumbers from Pueblo, Colorado, started a recall effort in their living room, gathered thousands of signatures and won. State Sen. Angela Giron promised to focus on jobs and instead went after gun control. She cancelled town-hall meetings and refused to listen to anyone that opposed her. Senate President John Morse proposed gun legislation that even his fellow Democrats opposed, and then stated on national television that he ignored his constituents and encouraged others to do the same.
And, in an article by Laura Carno, a founder of IamCreatedEqual.com and IACE, which were active in the Colorado recall campaigns, said, "The recalls speak to a bigger issue (beyond gun legislation) of the proper role of government, and the importance of politicians understanding that they work for us."
Refusing to be ignored, ordinary citizens came together and organized a recall. Imagine that? We hired you. We can fire you.
We need to find two plumbers in every state and watch them go.
