The Doc Is In

I red this week that Walmart is experimenting with walk-in clinics - their own doc-in-a box. They reportedly have a stop set up in Dalton, Georgia and some in rural areas of Texas. We don’t have any I know of, but out here it will be years before it happens.

The plan is for $40 one can see a doctor for non-serious ailments and get referrals to a specialist if needed. On the economics site where I picked up this tidbit, the plan could mean trouble for existing walk-in clinics because of the low price. Walmart stands to pickup business in their super centers.

If they ever put these in East Texas, I do hope they give serious consideration on the clinic location inside the store. If you don’t remember, where we shop, the candy is in bicycles and charcoal is on the toilet tissue isle.

I’m guessing automotive would be the spot.
