Adaptive Intelligence

While reading an article on charitable giving, I came across an unusual term, ‘adaptive intelligence.’  It means that something gets done without an agency running the show.  For example, thousands of people attend an event at a large stadium, exit the stadium and drive themselves home without government assistance.  If government had an agency in charge of making this happen, one would not ever get out of the stadium, much less get home.

There is no agency that directs food distribution.  Yet, we get food shipped into East Texas everyday.  How can that be?  Humans, in a free capital driven market set up their own system that works much more efficiently and effectively than government.  This is why charitable giving is so successful.  It is not the few that give large amounts, but the many that give and manage funds to help those in need.

Scientist actually call this, ‘large scale adaptive intelligence.’  If it was small scale, it might catch on in Washington D.C.

On second thought, they are not good at adapting to any kind of intelligence there.
