Another Summer Rerun

I find it interesting that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  I've been digging through the dusty files again and pulled out this ditty from 2011.  Nothing has changed.

What Are You Afraid Of

Are you afraid of spiders and snakes? Most people are. How about bears and lions? Yep! The truth is that few of us encounter snakes, bears and lions. And, I am not afraid of spiders, but I sure don’t like them.

Tornadoes and terrorist are certainly on the list for most people to fear. Old people fear running out of money before they die.

It is interesting what we fear. Most people just go along from day to day without thought of what they are afraid of.

I fear people that think, and believe, that government should provide them with a risk free world. They see nothing wrong with giving up liberties, freedoms and rights. If you discuss with these people what the facts are about surrendering their very lives, the common response is, "I don’t care."

If "I don’t care" is an honest response, and I believe it is, then that scares me. It should scare you.

But, maybe you don’t care either.
