The Heritage Foundation released a "picture" of the U.S. National Debt which now exceeds $17 trillion. Just how much is $17 trillion? To put it into context, the report took a look at one trillion. One trillion equals one thousand billion - $1,000,000,000,000. That’s twelve zeros.
Kobe Bryant, the highest paid NBA player at about $30.5 million per year, would need to work 32,837 years to reach $1 trillion. I’m guessing he would never make it.
The average person’s life in the U.S. is about 2.4 billion seconds. One billion seconds ago would be 1981. And, one trillion seconds ago would put you at 29,700 B.C.
It appears to me that we are going to need a whole lot more basketball players and tax them at 100%.
