A gun is an inanimate object. It is no more or less dangerous than a knife, a club, a bomb or any other object one might think of as a weapon. Guns are not the cause of deaths in this or any other country. People are the cause. Guns can be the instrument.
In the right hands guns can be a tool for protection of life and property. Guns serve the purpose making weaker individuals equal to a larger attacker. Through out history, guns have prevented more deaths than they were used for. Why do the same politicians that would take them away from you have armed security? They understand that with their armed bodyguards, the likely hood of being attacked is greatly reduced.
If guns are so bad, why do the police carry them? If guns are ever banned, shouldn’t the police give up theirs too?
If no one has guns, why would the police need them?
