If you have traveled to another country or met people from distant places and you pay attention, you will discover that people are the same. They have the same basic needs, wants and desires. It is the cultures that divide us. Different religions, traditions, governments, and beliefs cause each one of us to think that ours is the right way to behave and interact with others.
In some societies, it is not unusual to kill another person for adultery, stealing or because they have a different religion. There are places where some animals are sacred. And, there are cultures where leaders are viewed as a deity.
If we all have the same basic needs, food, water and shelter, and the same desires and wants, then what is it that divides us to a point where we kill each other? Believe it or not, the answer is the same, where ever you are. Politicians!
And, you thought it was having no air conditioning or toilet paper.
