If you’ve watched the talking heads talking about the latest school shooting, they are promoting the ‘do something,’ movement. Well, what is something? Obviously, they don’t know. The fact is that to do something for the sake of doing something may be the worst thing that can be done. Reacting in an emotional state is rarely (never) the time to do anything, but regroup and grieve.
The first ‘something’ is to identify the root problem, which is not guns. They are only a tool used to carry out a plan. There are many other weapons that can be used and more effective.
The effective ‘do something’ should be to gather a team of tried and proven experts in defense and prevention and give them ample time to develop a plan.
There are no experts in either field in D.C.
