Good And Evil

Another school shooting. This time in Florida. At last report 17 lives lost with others wounded. And, the cry will go out against guns. But, the young shooter wasn’t possessed by guns.

I don’t care what your religious beliefs are, or if you don’t have any, if you are smart enough to get in out of the rain, you will agree that there is good and evil in the world. Everyday we hear about or perhaps experience first hand, the evil things that people do. And, we hear about or experience the good, sometimes. Before you say, "That’s life," let me ask you to stop and think about why the two exist at all.

Are people good or evil because of what they eat or where they live? Does education have any effect on being good or evil? Is it because they are short or tall, skinny or fat, blonde, brunette or bald? Here’s a tough one, is it because they are treated well or treated badly? The reality is that the answer to all the questions is no, so there must be another reason.

This may come as a surprise to some, but we are not just physical and mental beings. There is a third dimension to all of us. Remember I said that I do not care what your religious beliefs are. It is indisputable that we all are driven by something that none understand, but if honest, we cannot deny. Humans are influenced daily by two "spirits." One is good and one is evil. And, the evil one is much more aggressive, even to the point of making us deny that such spirits exist at all.

If you view, objectively, the two spirits, you will notice that doing good is beneficial not only to you, but everyone else. Following the evil always results in destruction. And, in case you don’t know, the evil one is so evil that it mocks you and laughs at how easy it is to make you do what you know is wrong.

The battle rages between good and evil and we are but pawns. But, we are not slaves until we give in to one side or the other. The choice is to be a slave to good or to evil. You will become one or the other, even if you think that you don’t have to choose.

Just bear in mind, it is our choice.

Choose carefully.
