Misery Index

According to Money News and Newsmax, the misery index has risen to the highest level since 1983. The misery index is simply the sum of inflation and unemployment. It is now at a reported 13.0 percent. And, there are those that suggest that inflation is closer to 20% because government accounts only those filing for benefits. That would mean that the misery index would fall around 23 percent. I know I feel more miserable, so it must be the higher number.

If you think you are miserable now, just wait til all the campaigning really begins. Just trying to decide on a Republican candidate is torture. Over the next twelve months, I predict that we will be barraged with more stuff than an organic fertilizer processing plant.

The question I have today is simply, ‘why can’t the Republicans come up with a simple plan like the Democrats?’ They have the philosophy of tax and spend. The other side should just it down to, ‘don’t tax and don’t spend.’ But they can’t even decide that.

I don’t know about you, but my misery meter is pointing into the red. What will it take and how long will it be before enough people realize that if this country is to survive, it is the politicians that need to be made miserable - better yet, unemployed. Both parties are included.

When you get to be a grumpy old man, you are supposed to be miserable. But, this is ridiculous.
