Occupy Wall Street

Since everyone else is weighing in on the Occupy Wall Street protest, I feel compelled to add my two cents worth - actually just one cent worth. If you haven’t heard about these protest against capitalism, then you live in a cave and all I want from you is an invitation to move in with you.

These people need to spend their time looking for a job or volunteering in a soup kitchen or at least sitting in front of their big screen TV and staying out of the streets where working people dive. How is it that people of what appears to be of well means, have the gall - that’s an old word for acting like a jackass - to protest against mommy and daddy’s means of supporting them? Are they so ignorant they do not know that millions of Americans have their future invested in Wall Street?

I have a small fortune in the market - anything over $100, to me it’s a small fortune. My 401k and IRAs have taken a substantial hit, but you don’t see me protesting. Is there corruption in Wall Street? That’s like asking if there are stars on a cloudless night. Should the corruption be stopped and the perpetrators punished? Yes! Good luck with that. The mystery of capitalism is that in spite of corruption, the market flourishes and the masses benefit more than those immoral few that get rich by hook or crook.

What I see is an effort to take the pressure off the Obama administration and further the cause of socialism in this country. Also, has anyone noticed that these "people" are usually unruly and even violent in their approach. Seems a little hypocritical to what they spout about peace, love and lots of money for all.

There’s an old Meryl Haggard song with lyrics about "we’ll all be drinking free bubble up and eating rainbow pie."

Neither the protesters nor the song gives any insight as to who is going to pay for the bubble up or the pie.
