How many religions are there? Another one of 'those' questions. I suppose somebody has the answer, but I’m not sure. It seems today that at every turn there is a religion that I never heard of or at least I’m not familiar with.
There are religions that worship idols and those that don’t. Some religions want all non-believers to be dead. Seems to me that would cut down on prospects to join. That’s probably why us Baptist don’t believe that way. We want all the members we can get. It really helps when the collection plate is passed.
At least in America, we can still believe the way we want to, but it appears that belief is diminishing. What’s amazing is that Christians are falling more and more out of grace with the powers that be. It’s amazing because Christianity is the guiding force that forged this country. But, these days, that fact is often disputed.
One might ask, "what happened?" Well, in our quest for allowing everyone to practice their religion, Christianity suffered. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for others to worship whatever they worship. They can be wrong if they want to. I just get a little upset, actually a lot upset, when we can’t believe the way we want to anymore.
There are a lot of religions. Most of them seem to worship a supreme being. They all have beliefs, rules and regulations and cultures. I would like to know why in the good ole USA, we can’t be a Christian nation. Other countries get to have a predominate religion. Just doesn’t seem fair.
Maybe I need to focus on finding out if God grades on the curve. If not, is seventy passing?
