According to the Washington Times and Newsmax, Russian bombers penetrated U.S. airspace at least 16 times in the past ten days. Tu-95 Russian Bear H bombers have prompted the scrambling of U.S. jet fighters on several occasions. One bomber incursion reportedly sent flights along Alaska and California.
A NORAD spokesperson said that the Russian flights are training missions, but another defense official said that they are not just training missions. All of this comes with tense relations with Russia because of the events in the Ukraine.
Personally I think that Putin is tweaking Obama’s nose. And, maybe even thumping his ears.
I wonder if Sarah Palin saw the bombers from her porch.
