Lower Prices

Just like in previous years, this year’s focus is on what irritates me at the moment. Today, it’s a local grocery chain and their ‘lower prices.’ They ran TV and print ads proclaiming how they have lowered prices through out the stores. Heck, they even closed one night to ‘mark down’ the prices. The problem is, they forgot about people like me. The prices went up, not down.

Since I do the shopping, I am constantly aware of the prices of the items I have to buy. Yes, I do shop for sale items and use coupons. It gives me something to do that amuses me. I am not amused by the new lower prices. With some possible exceptions, they have raised prices from 10% to 50%. Why don’t I shop somewhere else? There is nowhere else that I don’t have to drive 30 to 40 minutes to get to.

I know my financial controller is going to be upset, but we are going to have to stop eating.

Except broccoli. They didn’t raise the price on that.
