As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I have a strong aversion to "give back." Let me give a bit more detail on why. We live in a society that attempts to put us in a position of feeling guilty about things we did not do, nor would ever do. It’s no surprise. There is an element that wants to shame everyone, make them think that they owe something. That’s not the way it works, or should work.
"God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son," is the way it is supposed to work. God didn’t give back because he owed the world anything. He gave because he knew that was the only way for we mortals to have a chance to be drawn unto him - freely giving to those that would receive.
Christmas is only a few hours away. Contrary to popular beliefs, it is a day of recognition for the greatest gift mankind has or will ever receive.
Make this Christmas where you receive.
