Prognostication

I have a vegetable garden. Well, actually I have a salsa garden. It has onions, tomatoes and peppers with a few occasional radishes. Rain is important to me. One good rain equals a lot of watering. So I check the weather forecast everyday.

It has come to my attention that the weather prognosticators don’t all have the same play book. For example, this morning I checked two different TV channels and one radio station and they all had differing forecast for rain. One said the area has a 40% chance or rain. Another forecasted a 20% chance of precipitation. Finally, I got the forecast I wanted to hear, 70% chance. I went with that one.

You can do the same thing with temperature. If you hear that the high for the day is going to be 100 degrees, just switch the channel. There is a good chance that you can cool down to 90 or at least 95 . I save a lot on cooling cost that way.

In the future I am going to look into other crops that don’t require so much water.

Maybe cotton?
