An opinion printed in the New York Post reveals that the defense department is sending pink slips to commanders in combat zones. Last week, more than 1,100 Army captains were told they would be retired. Budget cuts are projected to shrink the Army from the current 520,000 to 440,000, the smallest size since before WWII.
Just imagine you are in combat, bullets whizzing above your head, bombs exploding, comrades being killed and wounded and you get notified that when your tour is up, you are out of the Army.
Not a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Is this how America treats soldiers?
