The “Resident” keeps talking about American values. He uses the term to justify what he wants, like bringing potential terrorist into the country with other immigrants. But, my question is, “What are American values?”
We are not a Christian nation according to the resident. Therefore we can’t have Christian values, the foundation of everything that made this country great. Any sign of Christianity is removed from public display if it is perceived as a conflict of church and state. At any rate, we apparently don’t have any tried and proved spiritual values.
Shame certainly has to be one of our values. We are told we are to be ashamed of our successes and we are a disgrace for our capitalism. Any pride or unification of the people is to be looked upon as shameful.
Freedom of speech is not a value, because one might say something offensive to someone, somewhere. Political correctness is the value one should strive for. Yes, like the neighbors to the California couple that did not dare speak up about what they saw for fear of being accused of racial profiling.
From observation, I can easily see the values of placing no worth on the unborn, glorifying drug use, being submissive and dependent upon government and replacing the rule of law anytime there’s a whim to do so.
I am still confused about exactly what American values are. But, I guess I shouldn’t be.
When you give up Judeo-Christian values, there are no values left.
