Memorable Day

People often talk about what one should do on a 50th wedding anniversary.  First, I can tell you that everything moves a lot slower, but I planned a special day.

Since we are retired, I let her sleep until 5:30 a.m..  When she work up, I had prepared her breakfast in bed.  I put a bowl, spoon, box of shredded wheat, and a quart of milk on her night stand and told her to help herself.

Of course, I got her card.  It’s hard to find a card anymore for $1.  But, if one tries, it can be done.

Then, we were off to browse two sporting goods stores.  I think she really enjoyed the guns and ammo more than she did all the fishing tackle.

On a day like this, I gave her a choice for lunch - Sonic or McDonalds.  She chose Mickey D’s because you can go inside.  I even let her choose which toy she wanted out of the Happy Meals we had.

Back at home, after my nap, we cleaned some stuff out of the garage.  She had to leave for a trip to Wally World.

We had an early dinner so she could get all the dishes done in time to watch several reruns of Gunsmoke.

It’s going to be hard to top all this for our 75th.

Those that know me, know that not all of this was a lie.
