Percy

Percy is a customer service worker at the supermarket where I shop.  He’s the guy that takes your groceries out to your car.  And, the store policy is that he isn’t allow to take tips.  So, usually, when I get Percy to push the basket out, I strike up a conversation with him about fishing.  He loves to fish.

Percy usually works until noon each day, beginning about 6:00 am.  And, he goes fishing everyday.  Even ties his own jigs for crappie fishing.  His favorite spot in under a bridge that crosses the area of the lake near where we live.  Percy catches a lot of fish.

Why I have shared this story?  Percy is 81 years old.  He always tells me that he’s having a great day, then he looks at me and says, “When you get as old as WE are, if you get out of bed, it’s a great day.”  Percy doesn’t know that I am a lot younger than 81.

Note to me: Make an appointment with a plastic surgeon.
