We live in a gated community on a lake in East Texas. The residents are mostly old people that have lived here many years. They think it’s still 1980 and they are important - LOL. I tell you this so you will understand the rest of the story.
My in-laws are really old and as expected have worsening health issues. Mother-in law suffered a stroke a few months ago and just fell and broke her hip. She is currently in a rehab center and papa-in-law is staying with us. They live in an assisted living center a few miles away, but he is not able to be left alone.
I’ve started looking for a nursing home, should they have to move from where they are. There are a lot details one has to consider when choosing a nursing home. We certainly want one nearby, so I did a ‘google’ search for our zip code. Several popped up and as I scrolled down the page, low and behold there was the name of our community.
I thought it was, but wasn’t sure until now.
