There was a time when metal detectors were popular and expensive, but now one can get one for a reasonable price, unless you want the super-dooper models. I’ve always thought I need a metal detector, but good judgment took over and I realize that it would be another tool that sits and gathers dust or dirt-dobbers.
However, I’ve found myself really needing one to locate a valve underground. Am I going out and buy one? Absolutely not. My old high school friend has one that I can borrow. I just hope it works.
It has been sitting in a closet for at least ten years.
He should have borrowed one from someone when he needed it.
