Fox News and WOWK TV in Charleston West Virginia report a story about an eight grade student being arrested. He didn’t fight, vandalize school property or even cheat on an exam. He wore a NRA tee shirt to school.
According to the reports, one of Jared Marcum’s teachers told him that he would have to take the shirt off because it had a picture of a gun on it. The Logan County School District’s dress code does not prohibit such a shirt. But, Jared was arrested and taken to jail as well as being suspended from school. The school has refused to speak to the television station or other media, but did tell Fox News that the boy was arrested for "disrupting the educational process." Question: exactly what kind of "education" is going on in that school?
The boy’s parents have a lawyer and are trying to get the charges dropped. They then will reportedly pursue a suit against the school.
Similar events happen everyday in schools across the country. You want to know where young people get crazy ideas, look at the schools. A child’s nursery rhyme pretty well sums it up. "All the king’s horses and all the king’s men could not put Humpty Dumpty back together again." Is it too late to save the schools and the country?
Sure looks like it.
