Weather or NOT

Here I go again on weather prognosticators. These soothsayers in East Texas just don’t ever get it right. Well, to be honest, they do get the day of the week right. As I mentioned in a previous missive, I just keep channels until I find a weather forecast I like. It really doesn’t matter though. It won’t be right either.

Weather is important to me because I go outside and I like to know what to wear. There is nothing sadder than an old man in a pair of shorts and a flowered shirt standing in a foot of snow. And, when you grow tomato plants, it would be nice to know if it really is going to rain.

Many years ago, I heard a truism, "only fools and new comers predict the weather in Texas." I guess I am expecting too much. I think it was George Carlin as the "hippy-dippy weatherman that said the forecast for tomorrow is wide spread light during the day and mostly dark at night.

I don’t think the folks on TV here could even get that close.
