Yahoo!News - An estimated 80,000 people attended Saturday’s "420 Rally" inside Denver’s Civic Center Park. They were celebrating Colorado’s decision to legalize the recreational use of cannabis, aka "pot." At precisely 4:20 p.m. CT, thousands simultaneously exhaled marijuana smoke into the air, creating a haze visible several blocks away.
The fact that smoking pot in public is still against the law didn’t seem to matter. Nor did the laws against selling marijuana, as vendors set up shop offering several varieties of the plant, smoking pipes and even turkey legs. You gotta have lots of munchies.
Apparently not everyone was "chilled" because three people were shot, but none of the injuries were thought to be life threatening. I don’t know if the investigating police officers got in on the "haze" or not. If they did, they may volunteer to work that event again next year.
Now instead of "hard liquor and handgun nights"at the local watering hole, they’re going to have "pot and pistol parties."
